Finland ICT Intra-Corporate Transfer Permit 2026 — Managers, Specialists and Trainees
Explains Finland's ICT permit for managers, specialists and trainees transferred within the same company group, including duration, Fast Track, D visa and Mobile ICT.
Short answer
The ICT residence permit is for a temporary transfer from a company or group outside the EU to a Finnish host entity in the same group as a manager, specialist or trainee employee. For the first ICT permit, the applicant and the posting undertaking must be outside the EU. Managers and specialists may receive the permit for up to three years; trainees for up to one year, and trainees must hold a higher-education degree. Managers and specialists can use Fast Track and may apply for a D visa where eligible. In 2026 the first permit costs EUR 530 online / EUR 630 on paper; extended permit EUR 230 / EUR 430.
1. Who can use the ICT permit?
The transfer must be within the same company or group of companies. The Finnish host entity may be a branch, subsidiary or another entity in the same corporate group.
A manager must hold a senior managerial role; a specialist must possess specialised knowledge essential to the host entity; a trainee is transferred for career development or training in business techniques or methods.
2. Duration, Fast Track and D visa
Managers and specialists can use Fast Track for a first ICT permit and may apply for a D visa where eligible.
The ICT maximum duration is not an indefinite work route. A longer assignment requires another suitable residence basis.

3. Documents and Mobile ICT
If the person already holds an ICT permit issued by another EU Member State, Mobile ICT rules may apply instead of a first Finnish ICT permit. Distinguish the two routes at the outset.
