1. Who is it for?
The applicant must work as a visiting teacher, lecturer or instructor based on an invitation/agreement. Ordinary permanent teaching employment should not be confused with this temporary visiting route.
2. Maximum one year and income
Work under this route may last a maximum of one year. Longer employment requires a residence permit for an employed person or another suitable route.
If no collective agreement applies or the work is part-time, the 2026 minimum is EUR 1,463/month. The same benchmark applies to trade/business or mixed income.
3. Permit-free teacher work up to 90 days
Under Migri's work-without-permit rules, a teacher/expert may work for up to 90 days without a residence permit if the stay in Finland is lawful and there is an invitation or signed contract. Visa requirements still apply.
