    Finland Limited Company Liquidation 2026

Voluntary liquidation of an Oy: General Meeting, liquidator, public summons, dissolution and final settlement.

    Sources checked · 2026-08-24Reading time · 26 min

    Short answer

A Finnish Oy cannot be closed informally. For voluntary closure, the General Meeting places the company into liquidation and appoints a liquidator. The liquidator registers the liquidation, applies for a public summons to creditors, settles assets/debts and files dissolution/final settlement after completing the process. PRH states that the procedure generally takes at least five months. In 2026 the liquidation notification fee is EUR 55 and the public-summons application fee EUR 200.
